The VinFast VF 3 mini electric car, recently unveiled by billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong, has created a stir in the market, with an overwhelming response from consumers. To boost engagement for the VF 3, the Vietnamese automobile brand even listed the vehicle on Shopee, the country’s most-visited e-commerce platform, and enabled reservations through the VINID app.

Early birds who make reservations between May 13 and 15 will enjoy exclusive benefits, including a special price of just 235 million VND (battery rental) to 315 million VND (battery purchase), and a complimentary upgrade to premium paint color, worth 8 million VND. With these prices, the VinFast VF 3 becomes the most affordable electric car in Vietnam.

For those who wish to support this homegrown product but don’t have ready cash, Vingroup shareholders have the option to consider selling some of their shares. Based on the VIC share price at the end of the morning session on May 15 (46,250 VND/share), shareholders would need to sell over 5,000 shares to own a VinFast VF 3 (battery rental). For the battery purchase option, approximately 6,800 shares would need to be sold.

VIC Share Price as of May 15 Morning Session

By the end of May 15, the prices will be adjusted to 240 million VND/car (battery rental) and 322 million VND/car (with battery) for the four basic exterior colors. If the share price doesn’t increase, Vingroup shareholders may need to sell more shares to afford a VinFast VF 3. On the other hand, the number of shares required to be sold may be lower than the current calculation if the VIC share price rises.

According to VinFast, the company recently signed a contract to sell 50 VinFast VF 3 cars to SSMB Joint Stock Company, which is also the exclusive distributor of KyungLab, a Korean cosmetic pharmaceutical brand, in Vietnam. SSMB is headquartered in Thanh Xuan, Hanoi.

In the Vietnamese market, VinFast offers three battery rental packages for customers to choose from. The first package is priced at 900,000 VND/month with a travel limit of less than 1,500 km. The second package costs 1.2 million VND/month for a distance of 1,500 to 2,500 km. Finally, the third package is 2 million VND/month for travel over 2,500 km.
