On May 9, Keppel’s Property Division, FiCO Pan-United Joint Stock Company (“FiCO PanU”), and Coteccons Construction Joint Stock Company (“Coteccons”) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to apply mineralized CO2 concrete (CMC) and other sustainable solutions at The Infiniti, the third subdivision of the Riviera Point project developed by Keppel. These solutions can be replicated for other subdivisions of Riviera Point.

Specifically, CMC technology will be applied during the construction phase of The Infiniti project’s structural building by introducing recovered CO2 into the concrete mixing process to eliminate carbon emissions without affecting the concrete’s characteristics.

According to FiCO PanU’s estimates, The Infiniti project is expected to eliminate a total of 2,803 tons of embodied carbon compared to conventional materials, equivalent to the amount of carbon absorbed by 46,348 trees over 10 years.

“As a long-term investor in Vietnam, Keppel is committed to promoting the country’s sustainable development. We are delighted to collaborate with FiCO PanU and Coteccons to implement sustainable concrete solutions in the Riviera Point project, starting with The Infiniti subdivision. These efforts will help realize our carbon emission reduction targets and contribute to a greener and more sustainable construction environment,” said Mr. Lee Leong Seng, Director of Residential Development, Property Division, Keppel Vietnam, and General Director of Riviera Point Company Limited.

Mr. Steven Loh, General Director of FiCO Pan-United Concrete Joint Stock Company, shared, “This collaboration demonstrates the strong and long-standing relationship that FiCO PanU has built with Keppel and Coteccons over the past decade since we entered the Vietnamese market in 2011. We emphasize the common commitment of the three parties to move towards sustainable urban development in Vietnam and actively accompany the country on its journey to achieving net-zero emission goals by 2050. The application of CMC technology will usher in a new trend in Vietnam’s construction industry, where we can exclude and reduce carbon emissions before project completion.”

Mr. Nguyen The Phu, Executive Director of Coteccons Construction Joint Stock Company, emphasized, “Coteccons is committed to applying ESG – Environmental, Social, and Governance standards across its entire value chain. We have actively implemented many ESG solutions, from using renewable energy sources and reducing carbon emissions to adopting the 3R model of reduce, reuse, and recycle.”

“These efforts are not limited to Coteccons’ operations but also extend to our partners and subcontractors, who share our commitment to environmental protection and provide sustainable products and services that meet the stringent standards of environmentally conscious businesses like Keppel. By prioritizing ESG standards and fostering collaboration with like-minded partners, Coteccons is proud to contribute to a more sustainable future for the construction industry,” affirmed Mr. Phu.

The Infiniti features biophilic design, seamlessly integrating natural elements into its design and on-site amenities. The project also boasts a water park of district 7-leading scale (in Ho Chi Minh City) and nature-inspired, Hawaii-style facilities.

The Infiniti, part of Riviera Point, has achieved the “Green Mark Gold” certification from the Singapore Building and Construction Authority (BCA) and won the “Typical Green Project” category at the Vietnam Outstanding Property Awards 2023 organized by Dau Tu Bridge Magazine.
