“Sneaky” Sale of House Leads to a Real Estate Company Being Fined VND 500 Million

Selling future-adjacent homes without notifying the relevant authorities and without the approval of the Department of Construction is a risky venture. These homes are not yet a reality, and their sale could be considered speculative. It is essential to emphasize that while these homes are planned and designed with care, they are not yet a reality, and buyers should be aware of the potential risks involved.

On May 20, the People’s Committee of Thua Thien-Hue Province announced their decision to impose an administrative fine on IMG Hue Joint Stock Company for violating regulations in their real estate business.

IMG Hue was found to have sold houses M21, N26, and S21 in the An Cuu New Urban Area project in Hue City without obtaining the necessary approvals. The company engaged in the sale of future homes without informing the provincial housing management agency and without receiving confirmation from the Provincial Construction Department that the houses were eligible for sale.

The fine of VND 500 million was issued, and IMG Hue was ordered to temporarily cease real estate business activities for four months and 15 days, starting from the date of receiving the violation notice.

This action by the Thua Thien-Hue authorities underscores their commitment to enforcing compliance with real estate business regulations and protecting consumers in the province.
