Electric cars are becoming a new trend as many manufacturers are planning to bring various models to Vietnam. However, gasoline-powered cars remain more accessible to the majority as they do not require charging infrastructure. Here are some new gasoline-powered cars that may be launched in Vietnam soon.

Hyundai Grand i10

According to Hyundai’s latest sales report, the Grand i10 model is in the product clearance phase before the launch of an upgraded version, resulting in low sales. Therefore, the release of the 2024 Grand i10 is imminent.

Compared to the international market, the new Hyundai i10 will be a facelift rather than a new generation. This model was globally launched in February 2023.

Some changes in the new i10 may include a new integrated daytime running light and grille design, minor adjustments to the grille, and a redesigned LED taillight interface. The 2024 i10 is expected to feature a new LCD screen behind the steering wheel, an 8-inch central screen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, and a USB-C port.

Hyundai Accent

Another Hyundai model that may be launched as early as this May is the 2024 Accent. This is an entirely new generation with noticeable changes.

The 2024 Hyundai Accent was launched in India in March 2023 under the name Verna. This model now features a design similar to its older sibling, the Elantra, with a more modern front end that includes a LED strip and integrated grille lighting. The rear of the car also sports a horizontal LED strip.

The interior of the new Accent will feature numerous updates, including a two-spoke steering wheel and large dual screens. Other notable features include electronic parking brakes, interior ambient lighting, wireless charging, and even rear sunshades similar to those found in larger sedans.

The arrival of the 2024 Accent will likely give competitors like the Vios and City a run for their money, as the Korean car has consistently topped sales charts in its segment this year.

Kia Sonet

The Kia Sonet is also expected to receive a facelift this year. The international version was launched in December 2023.

The 2024 Sonet will undergo some front and rear refinements, including new lighting, a horizontal LED taillight, and a more angular grille.

The interior of the new Sonet stands out with a 10.25-inch screen behind the steering wheel. The highest-end option for the international version includes a Bose sound system and a sunroof. Some safety technologies offered in the international version, such as the ADAS package and 360-degree camera, would be notable features if included in the Vietnamese market.

Currently, the Sonet remains the best-selling SUV in the A-segment in Vietnam, outperforming the Raize and Venue.

Nissan Almera

Some dealerships have started taking orders for the new Nissan Almera. This facelifted model does not feature significant changes like its competitor, the Accent. The car will be imported from Thailand and is expected to arrive in the latter part of the third quarter of this year.

The 2024 Almera features subtle changes, primarily in the front end, which has been refined with a larger grille. The wheel design may also be updated.

Similarly, the interior of the car shows little sign of change. It is possible that the new Almera will be equipped with wireless charging.

Toyota Land Cruiser Prado

In the large SUV segment, the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado will be arriving in Vietnam soon. Pre-orders for the vehicle have already been accepted. The car may be imported from Japan, and its expected price is around 3 billion VND.

The 2024 Land Cruiser Prado bears no resemblance to its predecessor. It utilizes a new frame, featuring a distinctively boxy design optimized for off-road performance with approach, departure, and ramp breakover angles of 31, 22, and 25 degrees, respectively.
