Launched in 2019, the YMI Ranking system aimed to create a new standard for measuring the effectiveness of brand and campaign activities within specific industries on social media. Today, the YMI Ranking system consists of two main ranking groups: (1) Brand Ranking: Monthly brand ranking (YMI Brand of the Month) and annual brand ranking (YMI Brand of the Year); and (2) Campaign Ranking: Tet Holiday Campaign Ranking (Tet Campaign Ranking).

YouNet Media Index utilizes the SocialHeat social listening platform to monitor prominent brands and campaigns on social media. Brands are ranked monthly, while campaigns are ranked seasonally or according to marketing goals. The ranking results for brands and campaigns are based on four component indices: Brand Mention Score, Sentiment Index, Total Buzz Score, and Audience Scale Score.

In 2023, the six most vibrant industries on social media included beer, milk powder, liquid milk, banking, insurance, and e-commerce. These industries showcased numerous creative campaigns and communications that disseminated brand values and connected with their communities. Notable examples include: (1) International-scale music festivals organized by beer brands, incorporating technology and sports elements to deliver explosive and exhilarating experiences to audiences; (2) Banking brands adopting a more approachable image through diverse activities such as game show sponsorships, incorporating stand-up comedy into livestreams, organizing running events, and internal celebrations (birthday galas, anniversaries, etc.); (3) Despite facing crises, insurance brands persevered and remained devoted to their customers through campaigns carrying humane messages that touched the hearts of viewers.
