Pizza 4P's has become a staple in the Vietnamese culinary scene, with an impressive 32 restaurants spread across the country. Of these, 14 branches can be found in the bustling city of Ho Chi Minh, while 12 locations are scattered throughout the nation's capital, Hanoi.

In a Nikkei Asia interview, Pizza 4P’s co-founders, Yosuke Masuko and his wife, Sanae Takasugi, revealed their ambitious goal of surpassing 10 billion yen in revenue this year, equivalent to over $67 million, marking a significant 92% increase from the previous year.

The company also has its sights set on expanding to Indonesia, a country with a population of 276 million, which Masuko believes is an attractive and untapped market for pizza. With impressive figures already under their belt, the chain’s leaders shared that they had generated $42 million in revenue in just the first four months of 2024, surpassing last year’s total of $35 million.

Pizza 4P’s currently operates 32 restaurants in Vietnam, with 14 branches in Ho Chi Minh City and 12 in Hanoi. In addition to their dine-in locations, they also offer online sales, cheese production, wholesale cheese business, and retail dairy products. The chain has also expanded internationally, opening stores in Cambodia in 2021 and India and Japan in 2023.

During the Covid-19-related closures, Takasugi shared that the company faced a challenging period, carrying a debt of $4 million at one point. However, they successfully repaid this debt in full this year.

According to HNX data, in 2023, the Vietnam branch of Pizza 4P’s Corporation announced financial targets for 2023, with after-tax profit reaching VND 115.3 billion, a 38% increase compared to the previous year. The after-tax profit/equity ratio reached 43%, indicating a strong financial performance.

As of December 31, 2023, the company’s equity reached VND 267 billion, a 130% increase from the beginning of the year. The debt/equity ratio was 0.78, corresponding to a debt of over VND 208 billion. The company no longer had bond debt, and its total assets were estimated at approximately VND 475 billion.
