On June 1st, Vingroup launched the Vinpearl Horse Academy Vu Yen, a horse-riding institute, along with the Vu Yen Park pedestrian street and the international music festival, Wonder Island, at the Vinhomes Royal Island project on Vu Yen Island, Hai Phong. The event was accompanied by a series of cultural, artistic, and sporting festivals on a regional leading scale.
Vinpearl Horse Academy Vu Yen offers professional horse-riding training and international-standard riding experiences. The 30-hectare academy includes a reception house, 300 professional horse stables, multi-level training areas, a nearly 1-hectare multi-purpose horse performance arena with a grandstand, a recreational horse-racing track, an off-road horse-riding area, a premium veterinary hospital, and horse health care areas such as a horse gym and a hoof care zone.
Notably, the academy boasts a collection of over 100 horses, including top-tier purebred and rare horse breeds from around the world, such as the Quarter Horse, known for its speed, the Lipizzan, often referred to as the “White Prince,” and the Akhal Teke, hailed as the “Heavenly Horse” and the “world’s most beautiful horse.” In addition to giant draft horses weighing over 1 ton, like the Friesian and Shire, the academy also has Pony horses standing under 1.4 meters tall, perfect for younger riders.
The academy’s horse processions showcase distinct horse-riding styles from around the world, ranging from the aristocratic English Royal style to the free-spirited American cowboy approach. Audiences are also treated to fashion shows featuring models and these majestic horses in the academy’s multi-purpose arena. Other attractions include exhibitions at the Club House, royal-style costume photo ops, and a unique horse-drawn carriage tour that immerses visitors in nature.
Coinciding with the opening of the horse-riding academy, the Vu Yen Park pedestrian street made its debut at the heart of Vinhomes Royal Island. Stretching 2 kilometers along the Cam River, the pedestrian street showcases the Korean Culture Park and the European Royal Square. It offers unique check-in spots, including an artistic fountain, a wooden horse carousel, a teacup ride, and the thrilling skydrop free-fall tower.
Visitors can indulge in a variety of culinary delights, including Vuabanhdacua, Tracuc Tea, Spicy Hai Phong Vermicelli Fish, Asian-European cuisine at Mr. Park, Fantasy Beer, and youthful cafes like 1986 Coffee, K-Park Coffee, and L’amour Cafe. The experience is further enhanced by weekly street activities such as the Phoenix Reborn water music show, featuring 3D mapping and inspired by the legendary phoenix, and dazzling fireworks displays.
On the same night, at the European Royal Square, Vinhomes Royal Island unveiled an international festival series, kicking off with the Wonder Island music festival. This inaugural event in Hai Phong featured explosive performances by renowned stars with massive fan followings, including XIUMIN of the famous Korean group EXO, singer Tang Duy Tan, and artists Min, Vu Phung Tien, and DJ Gaztik. The festival attracted not only locals but also tourists from Hanoi, Quang Ninh, and nearby areas, making it a massive international music and culinary festival with tens of thousands of attendees.
Wonder Island also signals the beginning of a series of upcoming international-standard cultural, sports, and tourism activities in the key economic region of Northeast Vietnam. Vinhomes Royal Island is just a 5-minute drive from the future city of Thuy Nguyen, Hai Phong’s new center, via the Vu Yen Bridge. It is also conveniently accessible from downtown Hai Phong in less than 10 minutes through the upcoming Hoang Gia Bridge (May Chai Bridge), slated for completion and operation in August 2025.
