2023 proved to be an incredibly challenging year for the economy. Most businesses across industries experienced significant profit declines, with some even facing record losses. However, Vietlott, the Vietnam Computerized Lottery Company, managed to maintain its peak performance with a staggering sales figure of nearly VND 5,000 billion for the year.
Specifically, according to the 2023 Financial Statements, Vietlott recorded VND 4,968 billion in revenue, a slight increase from the previous year (VND 4,059 billion). It’s worth noting that 2022 was a peak year for Vietlott, with a more than 22% increase in sales compared to 2021.
Breaking down the revenue structure for the past year, matrix-based lottery sales accounted for nearly VND 2,850 billion, making up 57% of the total. Quick-draw and sequence number lottery sales reached VND 1,834 billion and VND 284 billion, respectively.
During the year, Vietlott also recognized financial revenue of over VND 64 billion, a 36% increase from 2022, mainly from interest income. Additionally, the company recorded other income of more than VND 53 billion, nearly seven times higher than in 2022, thanks to penalties from BCC contract violations.
After deducting expenses, the company achieved a pre-tax profit of VND 304 billion, a 17% increase year-over-year. On a per-working-day basis, Vietlott earned VND 1 billion in profit each day. Its after-tax profit stood at VND 243 billion, a 17% increase.

As of December 31, 2023, Vietlott’s total assets amounted to VND 1,279 billion, a 10% increase from the beginning of the year. The company held nearly VND 1,127 billion in fixed-term deposits in commercial banks, accounting for 88% of its total assets. Its accounts receivable decreased by 25% to VND 49 billion.
As of the end of last year, Vietlott had no debt. Its owner’s equity stood at nearly VND 553 billion, including VND 500 billion in owner’s capital and nearly VND 53 billion in undistributed post-tax profits.
In 2023, the company contributed over VND 1,531 billion to the budgets of various localities, a 32% increase compared to the previous year.
