To mark the 67th anniversary (July 3, 1957 – July 3, 2024) of the Traditional Day of the Market Management Force, on July 3, at 62 Trang Tien, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi, the General Department of Market Management (Ministry of Industry and Trade) opened an exhibition room with the theme “Identifying Real and Fake Food.”

This is the 12th time that the exhibition room of the General Department of Market Management has opened its doors to visitors to learn about products and equip themselves with knowledge to distinguish between genuine and fake goods in the market.

According to the leadership of the General Department of Market Management, in addition to the core task of inspecting and penalizing violations, the market management force aims to create a reliable source of information. Visitors can directly learn about the products detected and handled by the functional forces, thereby enhancing their awareness and experience in choosing goods and reliable shopping destinations.

With the theme “Identifying Real and Fake Food,” the exhibition features over 400 products, mainly focusing on staple foods and commodities such as Ong Cua rice, Ngon Nhat rice, Seng Cu rice, soybeans, Pediasure milk powder, Glucerna milk powder, Abbott Grow milk powder, Ensure Gold milk powder, Hubba Bubba candy, Nguyen Ninh sticky rice cake, honey, and a variety of beverages and functional foods. These are essential products with high demand, consumed daily by the population.

Notably, the exhibition dedicates a prominent space to display seized gold and jewelry items that infringed upon intellectual property rights of registered trademarks such as Chanel, LV, and Cartier. This is a highly sensitive area, drawing special attention from both the government and the public.

Additionally, the exhibition also presents products seized by the Market Management Departments of Hanoi, Ha Giang, Vinh Phuc, Bac Ninh, Ha Nam, and Thanh Hoa provinces during recent large-scale inspections. These include counterfeit Thien Long brand pens and various shampoos, fabric softeners, and detergents bearing well-known brand names such as Comfort, Romano, Sunsilk, and OMO. The display aims to educate visitors on identifying infringement signs.

The exhibition will be open to visitors from July 3 to July 7, 2024, free of charge. Operating hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily.

During their visit, guests will be guided by experts from the General Department of Market Management on identifying basic signs of authenticity and counterfeiting for the exhibited products.
