Hyundai Cuts Inventory with Dealer Discounts
Despite being halfway through 2024, some 2023-manufactured vehicles remain in stock at dealerships. One such model is the Hyundai Custin Special Edition, leading dealers with remaining inventory to offer discounts to clear out these older models.

A dealership in the northern region is offering a white 2023 Hyundai Custin for just 840 million VND, a price that rivals the standard Toyota Innova Cross (810 million VND). This price is a significant 75 million VND reduction from the current listed price of 915 million VND.
The dealership has taken to social media to advertise this vehicle, aiming to reach a wider audience and sell this remaining stock quickly. While some comment that 840 million VND is an attractive price, others respond that 800 million VND would be more reasonable for a 2023 VIN vehicle, or if this price included registration fees.
What’s the Hyundai Custin All About?
With dimensions of 4,950 x 1,850 x 1,725 mm and a wheelbase of 3,055 mm (longer than the Toyota Innova), the Hyundai Custin has been praised by a 20-year automotive industry expert as “an MPV with ample space for families yet agile enough for the city.”

Despite being an MPV, the Custin boasts an aerodynamic design with a drag coefficient of 0.31 Cd, as stated by the manufacturer. Its design is less boxy than the Kia Carnival and features more curvaceous lines.
The interior takes inspiration from spacecraft, focusing on comfort and convenience. Notable features include a 10.4-inch vertical touchscreen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a steering wheel with built-in shift paddles, a rear LCD display, electronic parking brake, automatic climate control, remote start, ambient lighting, and two sunroofs. The second-row seats are designed as two independent business-class-style seats with wireless charging, a work table, and storage.

The Hyundai Custin offers two engine options: a 1.5L or 2.0L gasoline engine. The standard engine produces 170 PS and 253 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed transmission. The higher-end engine generates 236 PS and 353 Nm of torque, also mated to an 8-speed transmission. Drivers can choose from four driving modes: Eco, Comfort, Sport, and Smart.
In terms of safety, the Hyundai Custin is well-equipped to rival its competitors in the same segment. In addition to standard support systems found in most vehicles, such as braking assistance (ABS, EBD, BA), electronic stability control, hill-start assist, and traction control, this minivan also boasts blind-spot monitoring, tire pressure monitoring, a 360-degree camera, and six airbags. Advanced features include lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and driver attention warning.
The significant price difference between the Hyundai Custin Special and Premium editions lies in the additional features for comfort and safety. The Special edition lacks the driver’s seat memory function, ventilated and heated front seats, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, forward collision avoidance, rear occupant alert, lane-keeping assist, adaptive high beams, and driver attention warning.
