Entering July 2024, the Vietnamese motorcycle market is yet to shake off its gloom. To boost sales and attract buyers, some dealerships have introduced attractive discounts on the Honda SH.
Specifically, the Honda SH 350i is now offered by dealerships at a starting price of only VND 120 million, a reduction of approximately VND 30 million compared to the manufacturer’s suggested price (VND 150.99 – 152.9 million). Notably, compared to the end of June 2024, the selling price of this Honda scooter has dropped by another VND 5 million.
Meanwhile, the actual selling price of the Honda SH 125i ranges from VND 72 to 82.5 million, depending on the version (VND 1-2 million lower than the suggested price). The Honda SH 160i, on the other hand, is priced from VND 92 to 104 million, again depending on the version, which is VND 490,000 to VND 2.5 million higher than the suggested price.
In addition, depending on the dealership, customers who purchase the vehicle may also receive additional benefits such as low-interest installment plans, VND 2 million support for obtaining an A2 driver’s license, and other gifts.
According to dealerships, the main reason for the significant drop in prices for Honda’s “king of scooters” is weak consumer demand. Additionally, the Honda SH 350i has a limited customer base due to its high suggested price and the requirement for an A2 driver’s license.

The Honda SH 350i, on the other hand, is equipped with a 329.6cc eSP+ engine, a single-cylinder, 4-valve, liquid-cooled unit with PGM-Fi electronic fuel injection. This engine produces a maximum power of 29.2 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 31.8 Nm at 5,250 rpm.
In addition to its powerful engine, the Honda SH 350i boasts a range of modern features, including automatic emergency braking indicators, a Smart Key anti-theft system, a traction control system (HTSC) to minimize skidding, and ABS-integrated disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels.
Previously, since its launch in August 2021, the locally assembled SH 350i has consistently commanded a premium of VND 10-20 million at dealerships. There were even times when this scooter’s price was inflated by nearly VND 200 million.
Price drop after Tet for motorcycles
Many motorcycle models, primarily scooters that are high in value, were quickly increased in price by 1 – 4 million VND per unit at stores just before the Lunar New Year. However, after the holiday season, these prices have significantly dropped.
