Vietnamese stocks kicked off July with a positive weekly performance in terms of indices. The VN-Index rose 3% to 1,283, while the HNX-Index climbed 2% to just over 242.3.

However, market liquidity declined significantly. On the HOSE exchange, trading volume dropped by over 37.5% to 549 million units per session, and trading value fell 34% to VND14.5 trillion per session.

For the HNX exchange, liquidity decreased by 25% compared to the previous week, with a trading volume of 53.2 million units per session and nearly VND1.1 trillion per session.

Market Liquidity Overview for Week of 01/07 – 05/07

 

Despite the overall outflow of funds, several individual stocks witnessed strong breakouts in liquidity. CSV experienced the most significant surge in trading volume on the HOSE exchange, with a 370% increase to nearly 1.4 million units. This stock witnessed a robust weekly performance, with its market price surging 26.5% to VND33,650 per share.

Additionally, HAR and TEG also recorded increases of over 300% compared to the previous week.

On the HNX exchange, MBG attracted strong buying interest, with a trading volume of more than 2.6 million units per session, representing a rise of over 500%.

In terms of sector performance, money flow was somewhat polarized in prominent sectors such as real estate. Within this sector, stocks like HAR, QCG, DXG, VRE, VPI, and TIG attracted investment funds. Conversely, several stocks experienced outflows, including VPH, NHA, BCM, ITC, SIP, API, and VC7.

Meanwhile, money flowed out of securities stocks. TVS, VIX, VIG, APS, BVS, SHS, and MBS witnessed substantial declines in liquidity compared to the previous week, with decreases ranging from 45% to 60%.

The construction sector also experienced a mild polarization in money flow during the week. Stocks like CMS, S99, DDG, and PVH attracted buying interest, while FCN, CTD, and LIG saw outflows.
