Elon Musk has made bold claims about the capabilities of the Cybertruck, from its ability to survive the apocalypse to temporarily functioning as a boat if the world were to flood. However, a recent video has raised doubts about the latter, as a Cybertruck was seen getting stuck on the shore of Malé Košariská Lake in Slovakia.
This particular Cybertruck is believed to be the first to arrive in Slovakia. According to the Slovak Spectator, it was being used to offer test drives to local Tesla enthusiasts. To showcase the vehicle’s capabilities, the driver decided to take it for a spin in Malé KoÅ¡ariská Lake, a 20-minute drive from the capital, Bratislava.
The lake is a popular swimming spot during the summer, so it seemed like the perfect place to test Musk’s claim about the Cybertruck’s ability to “turn into a boat.” However, things didn’t go as planned when the tires started to sink into the water.
The Tesla electric truck became stuck in the loose gravel at the bottom of the lake, with the wheels spinning continuously but unable to generate enough traction to pull free. A video posted on social media showed the Cybertruck unsuccessfully attempting to extricate itself from the lake multiple times.
Eventually, the truck required assistance from bystanders. They waded into the water and pushed the massive vehicle from the shore. According to the Slovak Spectator, “many people had to help push the car, dig gravel, put planks under the wheels, and push the car from behind.”
While Elon Musk has boasted about the Cybertruck’s extraordinary abilities, this incident at Malé KoÅ¡ariská Lake highlights the limitations of the vehicle when it comes to aquatic environments. Nevertheless, such incidents are part of the testing and improvement process, and in the future, Tesla may find solutions to address these issues and bring the Cybertruck closer to Musk’s ambitious claims.
