On July 8, Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, Secretary of the Danang Party Committee, led a working delegation to visit Samsung Electronics’ semiconductor factory in Pyeongtaek City, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.
At the event, the Secretary introduced Korean investors to the policies of Danang city and Vietnam regarding the development of the semiconductor industry.
According to Mr. Quang, the semiconductor industry is a key sector that the city is focusing on investing in, creating a breakthrough in socio-economic development in the coming time. Based on its strengths, Danang is concentrating on building a development strategy focused on chip and integrated circuit design, gradually developing testing and packaging.
Accordingly, the city is focusing on training high-quality human resources in this field while preparing the necessary conditions to meet the demands of businesses and investors.
Especially, Danang has been allowed by the National Assembly to apply superior preferential policies for strategic investors and partners in the semiconductor industry, including tax incentives, land access, infrastructure, and human resource development policies.
Mr. Nguyen Van Quang proposed that Samsung Group consider investment opportunities in Danang and support the city in training high-quality human resources in this field.
Mr. Lee Jin Wook, Vice President of Samsung Electronics’ semiconductor factory in Pyeontaek City, highly appreciated Vietnam’s potential and proactive participation in the global semiconductor supply chain.
Mr. Lee Jin Wook also expressed his impression of Danang’s efforts in building the city into a potential investment destination for the semiconductor industry in Vietnam.
During the working session, the Danang delegation was introduced by the Samsung Electronics delegation to the history and development of Samsung in the semiconductor industry, as well as the group’s latest manufacturing technologies.
