O Huyen, a popular Vietnamese streamer, recently caused a stir with her controversial remarks during a live session with Hang Du Muc. Netizens expressed their outrage at O Huyen’s inappropriate comments about Quang Linh Vlogs, accusing him of overeating. This incident has not only sparked anger among netizens but also impacted the durian brand associated with O Huyen.

The fallout didn’t end there. Many durian sellers on TikTok who livestreamed their sales were also affected by the growing boycott of O Huyen’s durians. In response, these sellers had to find creative ways to clarify their situation.

Some livestream sellers went as far as putting up signs saying, “Not O Huyen’s Durian” or “Not O Huyen’s Durian Shop.” Others had to continuously address comments and assert their lack of affiliation with O Huyen during their streams.

Netizens also flooded the comment sections of durian sellers’ livestreams with questions like, “Is this O Huyen’s durian?”, “Is O Huyen having a durian sale?”, or “I’ll only buy if it’s not O Huyen’s durian.”

On July 9, O Huyen issued an apology, acknowledging that it was her first time participating in such a large-scale megalive event and that her lack of experience and poor choice of words led to the misunderstanding with Quang Linh, which disappointed viewers. However, her apology post only allowed comments expressing agreement, further angering netizens. The situation continues to attract attention across social media platforms.

With durian season in full swing, it’s no surprise that TikTok users are encountering numerous online durian sellers.
