The Power Players: 11 Shareholders Control 35% of MSB’s Capital

The Vietnam Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MSB) has released an updated list of its significant shareholders, owning 1% or more of its charter capital. This list is based on data published by VSDC on June 28 and has been further refined with information provided by shareholders as of July 23.

Out of the 11 disclosed shareholders, only one is an individual, while the remaining 10 are businesses and investment funds. Together, these 11 shareholders own 708.5 million shares, representing 35% of the bank’s charter capital.

The sole individual shareholder who owns over 1% of MSB is Mr. Nilesh Ratilal Banglorewala (born in 1965). He holds 66.5 million MSB shares, equivalent to 3.32% of the bank’s charter capital. Mr. Nilesh Ratilal Banglorewala previously served as the Block Director at MSB and was also a member of the Board of Directors of PGBank.

Among the institutional shareholders, Vietnam Post and Telecommunications Group (VNPT) is currently the largest shareholder of MSB, holding nearly 121 million shares, equivalent to 6.05% of its charter capital.

Specifically, ROX Key Holdings JSC owns 48.6 million shares or 2.43% of MSB’s charter capital; TNL Asset Investment and Leasing JSC owns 21.6 million shares or 1.08%; and ROX Cons Construction Investment JSC owns 37.3 million shares or 1.87%.

Along with the above three companies, Bai Dai Resort JSC, which holds 4.96% of MSB’s capital, is also a significant shareholder. The legal representative of this company is Mr. Pham Ngoc Vu.

Mr. Vu is also the legal representative of Hanoi Green Technology City Company Limited, which holds 99.4 million shares, or 4.97% of MSB’s charter capital.

Another notable shareholder is Hanoi – Dai Du Industrial Infrastructure Construction and Business JSC, which owns 4.98% of MSB’s capital.

In addition, two low-profile enterprises also reported holding a significant number of MSB shares: Tien An Investment JSC (holding 22.1 million shares or 1.11% of MSB’s capital) and Ricohomes Investment JSC (holding 52.8 million shares or 2.64%).

Tien An Investment JSC is based in Bac Ninh, with Mr. Do Quang Huy as its legal representative. On the other hand, Ricohomes Investment JSC has a charter capital of VND 10 billion, with 90% of foreign capital from Cherydale Limited. The company mainly operates in the “management consulting” field, and Mr. Nguyen Khanh Toan is its legal representative.

The list of shareholders owning over 1% of MSB also includes an international fund, Buenavista Holdings, which holds 40.5 million shares or 2.02% of the bank’s capital.
