A number of businesses have released their Q2 2024 financial statements as of July 27, 2024:

Vinh Hoan Corporation (VHC) experienced a 22% decline in profit for Q2 2024, amounting to VND 393 billion, due to increased cost of goods sold.

Becamex TDC (TDC) reported a pre-tax profit of VND 74 billion in Q2 2024, attributed to a surge in financial revenue. This marks a turnaround from six consecutive quarters of losses.

Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV) disclosed its Q2 2024 financial results, posting a revenue of VND 5,535 billion and a pre-tax profit of nearly VND 4,000 billion, representing a 13% and 25% increase, respectively, from the previous year. This quarter’s profit is also the highest ever recorded by the company.

FPT Telecom (FOX) is among the companies that achieved record profits in Q2 2024, with a pre-tax profit of VND 933 billion, an 18% increase year-on-year.

Masan Consumer (MCH), the crown jewel of billionaire Nguyen Dang Quang, recorded a pure revenue of VND 7,387 billion and a pre-tax profit of VND 2,035 billion, reflecting a 14% and 10% increase, respectively, compared to the same period last year.

Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC) reported a record pre-tax profit of over VND 1,300 billion in Q2 2024, a 106% surge year-on-year. This impressive performance is attributed to increased revenue and a significant other income of over VND 815 billion from asset disposal and loan write-offs.

Cienco4 Corporation (C4G) released its Q2 2024 financial statements, reporting a revenue of VND 1,027 billion, a 66% increase year-on-year. Revenue from construction contracts remained the main contributor, amounting to VND 899 billion, an 88% increase from the previous year and accounting for 88% of total revenue. After expenses, the company’s pre-tax profit exceeded VND 73 billion, a 66% increase compared to Q2 2023.

Viglacera Corporation (VGC) announced its consolidated financial statements for Q2 2024, with a pure revenue of VND 2,712 billion, a 31% decrease year-on-year. After expenses, Viglacera reported a post-tax profit of nearly VND 171 billion for Q2 2024, a decline of almost 73% compared to the previous year.

A number of companies in the real estate sector, including Becamex IJC (IJC), Hai Phat (HPX), and SGR, also reported decreased profits in line with Viglacera.

Hoa Sen Group Joint Stock Company (HSG) published its financial statements for Q3 of the 2023-2024 fiscal year, recording a pure revenue of over VND 10,840 billion, a more than 25% increase year-on-year. The Group’s pre-tax profit reached VND 287 billion, a 2,255% increase compared to the same period. For the first nine months of the fiscal year, HSG’s pre-tax profit stood at VND 717 billion, while it had incurred a loss of VND 352 billion in the previous year.
