Entering August 2024, Yamaha dealers are offering attractive discounts on the Yamaha Janus, making it as affordable as the Honda Wave Alpha motorcycle. Yamaha’s most affordable scooter model is getting a significant price cut this month, creating a great opportunity for budget-conscious consumers.

Specifically, select Yamaha Town dealers in Hanoi are offering a subsidy of VND 4 million for customers purchasing the Janus during August 2024. After applying the discount, the price of the standard Yamaha Janus ranges from VND 24.5 to 24.67 million, the limited edition from VND 28.69 to 28.89 million, and the special edition from VND 28.2 to 28.4 million.

Meanwhile, the Honda Vision is also being offered at competitive prices. At certain dealerships, the standard version of Honda’s scooter can be had for as low as VND 30 million. Additionally, some dealers are going the extra mile by offering an additional VND 500,000 gift or a 50% discount on accessories for customers purchasing the scooter over the weekend.

In the Vietnamese market, both the Yamaha Janus and the Honda Vision are considered cash cows for their respective Japanese manufacturers, consistently maintaining strong sales performance.

Both the Honda Vision and Yamaha Janus feature compact designs and low seat heights, but each model has its unique design language. The Honda Vision sports a modern aesthetic with neutral tones and lines, making it appealing to both male and female riders. Its dimensions are 1,871mm in length, 686mm in width, and 1,101mm in height, with a seat height of 761mm and a wheelbase of 1,255mm.

On the other hand, the Yamaha Janus stands out with its dynamic, youthful design blended with soft, elegant touches. Its dimensions are 1,850mm in length, 705mm in width, and 1,120mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1,260mm. This makes it particularly well-suited for individuals of shorter stature, especially women, who will find it easy to maneuver and handle.

Despite being mid-range scooters, both the Honda Vision and Yamaha Janus come loaded with modern technologies and conveniences that rival those of more expensive models.

Both scooters feature SmartKey technology for effective theft protection and easy vehicle location. However, it’s important to note that this feature is only available on the higher variants of both models and not on their standard versions.

Additionally, both the Janus and Vision are equipped with halogen headlights and modern LED positioning lights. However, while all variants of the Yamaha Janus come with this feature, the standard Honda Vision misses out on it.

Both scooters also offer a combination of analog and digital instrumentation, with the Janus gaining an edge by including a clock on its dashboard display.

Where the Honda Vision pulls ahead is in terms of under-seat storage capacity, offering a generous 18 liters compared to the Yamaha Janus’s 14 liters. Honda also includes a convenient charging port for your mobile devices.

Powering the 2022 Yamaha Janus is a SOHC engine with a displacement of 125cc, employing Yamaha’s Blue Core technology. This air-cooled, 4-stroke engine is paired with a VCT CVT transmission and fuel injection system, delivering a maximum output of 9.4 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and peak torque of 9.6 Nm at 5,500 rpm. Impressively, Yamaha claims a fuel efficiency figure of just 1.87 liters per 100 km for the Janus.

The 2022 Honda Vision, on the other hand, is equipped with a 109.5cc eSP engine that produces 6.59 kW of power at 7,500 rpm and 9.29 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm. This engine incorporates fuel injection technology and an idle stop system, resulting in a fuel consumption figure of 1.88 liters per 100 km.
