A Closer Look at the Mini-Apartment Complexes and Business Establishments in Thanh Xuan District that are in Breach of Fire Safety Regulations

Fire Safety Violations in Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi: A Cause for Concern

The People’s Committee of Thanh Xuan District, Hanoi, has recently published a list of 96 fire safety violations, exposing a concerning trend of non-compliance with fire safety regulations. Among the listed properties are residential buildings, offices, commercial establishments, and multi-family homes, all of which have been operating without proper fire safety inspections and approvals.

The Light Fitness & Yoga Company at Vietnam-Germany Complex failed to submit documents for re-evaluation after renovating and changing the nature of their space. They also disregarded the decision to suspend their operations and proceeded to operate the building without proper fire safety certification, resulting in a total fine of VND 193 million.

The total fine for these violations amounted to VND 193 million.

Not far from the aforementioned complex, a car showroom on Le Van Luong Street was also named and shamed by the district for similar fire safety violations.

The Mazda and BMW showrooms on Le Van Luong Street were each fined VND 40 million for constructing buildings that required fire safety evaluations without obtaining the necessary certificates beforehand.

Trang An Palace Wedding and Event Center, located at 1 Nguỵ Như Kon Tum Street and owned by Phuc Loc Event Organization Company, was found to be in violation of fire safety regulations by continuing operations despite a decision to suspend their activities.

For this violation, they were fined VND 170 million for putting the building and transportation means into use without proper fire safety certification or evaluation.

ione Karaoke at 178-180 Nguyen Tuan Street was found to have failed to submit documents for re-evaluation after renovating and changing the nature of their space.

Pattaya Karaoke at 204-206 Nguyen Tuan Street was cited for multiple violations, including failing to update their fire safety and rescue management records, renovating and changing the nature of their space without proper certification, and installing fire walls and other fire prevention solutions that did not meet legal requirements.

Despite these violations, both karaoke establishments continue to operate.

HÆ°Æ¡ng Sen Massage Parlor, located in Building 17-21 of the Hacinco Student Village at Gate 5 Le Van Thiem Street, was fined VND 90 million for operating without fire safety certification.

Pico Supermarket Center at 76 Nguyen Trai Street was found to have renovated their building without proper fire safety evaluations.

In addition to commercial establishments, several multi-family homes (mini-apartments) were also named and shamed for fire safety violations.

The mini-apartment building at 45 Ngo 80 Hoang Dao Thanh Street was cited for inadequate fire prevention measures, including insufficient fire escape dimensions, incomplete fire safety equipment, ineffective fire prevention solutions, and inadequate fire-fighting access.

Other mini-apartment buildings listed for similar violations include: 315 Vu Tong Phan Street, 37 Ngo 387 Vu Tong Phan Street, 26-28 Ngo 29/6 Khuong Ha Street, 11 Ngo 29/28 Khuong Ha Street, 11A Ngo 29/42 Khuong Ha Street, and 56 29/78 Khuong Ha Street.

Most of these mini-apartment buildings were found to have similar violations, including insufficient dimensions for escape routes, inadequate fire safety equipment, ineffective fire prevention solutions, and inadequate fire-fighting access.
