In relation to the Nhon – Hanoi Railway Urban Railway project, recently, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha requested the Hanoi People’s Committee to direct the relevant agencies and units to urgently complete the work, content, and procedures. This includes coordinating with the Ministry of Transport’s agencies to complete the appraisal and issuance of the System Safety Certificate as prescribed. (Image: MRB)

Conclusion No. 340/TB-VPCP of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha’s second meeting clearly states: “Regarding the progress of urban railway routes, the Hanoi People’s Committee is requested to ensure the commercial operation of the Nhon – Hanoi elevated railway route before July 28, 2024, and under no circumstances should the completion progress be delayed.” (Image: MRB)

However, up to now, according to the observations of VTV News reporters, there are still no signs of the Nhon – Hanoi elevated railway route being put into commercial operation.

This is the 14th time that the Nhon – Hanoi urban railway route has missed its appointment with the people of Hanoi.

In the past few days, the elevated stations of the project have remained fenced off.

The elevators are covered, and the area is dusty.

Under the bridge, there are spots where people illegally dump household waste.

The station corridor has become a storage area for goods.

According to the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board, in early July 2024, the Nhon – Hanoi Urban Railway project was granted a System Safety Certificate by the French Consulting Consortium, meeting the conditions for completing the subsequent procedures for commercial train operations. (Image: MRB)
