Vũng Tàu City authorities have announced plans to reclaim over 38,800 square meters of land from the Construction Company of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province (now known as VRC Real Estate and Investment Joint Stock Company). This move is part of a larger effort to repossess and redevelop prime beachfront property along the Thuy Van road.

Additionally, the city will enforce the removal and relocation of assets belonging to Vung Tau International Tourism Joint Stock Company and Hai Duong International Tourism Joint Stock Company, which are situated on the land leased from the Construction Company.

These two businesses had their assets on the land rented from the Construction Company, and the Ba Ria-Vung Tau People’s Committee has approved compensation for crops, houses, and structures on the land.

Prior to this, to implement the Thuy Van Road Beautification Project, the People’s Committee of Vung Tau City reclaimed 28 hectares of prime beachfront land in Bai Sau. Nine secondary enterprises leased this land from the Construction Company of Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province for tourism business purposes.

According to the detailed planning at a scale of 1/500 for Thuy Van road, the area covers approximately 77.9 hectares and is designated for tourism, services, trade, housing, public parks, and beaches. The existing area will be a residential and hotel business zone.

To date, seven out of nine businesses have handed over the site, and the Vung Tau City People’s Committee held a groundbreaking ceremony for the project in late July 2024 (Photo: Luu Son)

The beachfront area is envisioned as an open, welcoming space, emphasizing the natural beauty of the sea. It will offer a range of functions and amenities to ensure that locals and tourists can fully enjoy the seaside environment and capture breathtaking sea views.

According to Mr. Hoang Vu Thanh, Chairman of the Vung Tau City People’s Committee, this beautification project is a significant step towards developing Vung Tau City into a high-quality, internationally renowned tourism hub. It aligns with the province’s master plan for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision towards 2050.

The Thuy Van Road Beautification Project has a total investment of over VND 1,094 billion, with the Vung Tau City People’s Committee as the investor.

It is expected that the project will complete the necessary procedures to commence construction on August 29, and the work will be finished by April 30, 2025. This project is also one of the key constructions commemorating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Southern Vietnam and the reunification of the country on April 30, 1975 – 2025.
