On the morning of August 2, at the Danang Exhibition and Fair Center, the Trade Promotion Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade) in collaboration with Danang People’s Committee organized the opening ceremony of the International Trade, Tourism and Investment Fair. East-West Economic Corridor – Danang 2024 (EWEC – Danang 2024)
The fair attracted nearly 300 stalls from more than 150 businesses from 31 provinces and cities across the country, including: Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hai Duong, Quang Ninh, Thai Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Khanh Hoa, Gia Lai, Dak Lak, Ninh Thuan, Binh Phuoc, Binh Duong, Dong Nai, Lam Dong, Long An, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho, Vung Tau, An Giang, Kien Giang.
Especially, EWEC – Danang 2024 also attracted the participation of many international organizations and businesses from 09 countries with 29 stalls, including: Ministry of Commerce – Kingdom of Cambodia; Ministry of Information, Culture and Tourism – Lao People’s Democratic Republic; Embassies in Vietnam: Republic of Indonesia, Myanmar; Consulates General in Danang: People’s Republic of China, Republic of Korea, Russian Federation; Lao People’s Democratic Republic; Department of Industry and Trade in the southern provinces of Laos: Khammouan, Savanakhet, Attapeu, Sekong, Salavan; Malaysia Tourism Promotion Office in Ho Chi Minh City; Thailand Trade Center Office in Ho Chi Minh City.
In his opening speech, Mr. Ho Ky Minh, Vice Chairman of Danang People’s Committee, said that the annual fair, held from 2007 to the present, EWEC – Danang 2024 aims to create conditions for localities along the East-West Economic Corridor to introduce their achievements, and at the same time, it is also an opportunity for countries, foreign localities and international organizations with diplomatic relations with Danang city to display and introduce their potential, strengths and cooperation opportunities. investment to businesses, tourists and people of the city and provinces in the region. Mr. Ho Ky Minh acknowledged that Danang is the end point of the East-West Economic Corridor – which plays an especially important role in expanding trade with countries in the region and internationally, with a fairly synchronous and modern infrastructure system. Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, said that the EWEC – Danang 2024 Fair is held annually to introduce socio-economic development achievements and promote the potential for trade, investment, and tourism of provinces and cities in the Central, Central Highlands regions, and localities of countries along the East-West Economic Corridor, and countries in the Mekong Sub-region.
