Weak buying power, coupled with high inventory, has led to significant price cuts for several B-segment sedans offered by dealerships, ranging from a few tens to a few hundred million VND.
Suzuki Ciaz
Recently, dealerships have been actively clearing inventory for the Suzuki Ciaz by offering substantial discounts, bringing the actual selling price of the car to an all-time low since its launch in the Vietnamese market.
At an authorized dealership in Central Vietnam, this sedan is now priced at 455 million VND, equivalent to a discount of 80 million VND. According to the dealership, this program aims to clear inventory for 2023 production models.
However, buyers should note that discounts may vary across dealerships, so it is advisable to research and compare prices before making a purchase to ensure you get the best deal.

Currently, the Ciaz is no longer listed on the Suzuki Vietnam website, raising concerns about its potential discontinuation in the Vietnamese market. This speculation is further supported by the upcoming closure of the Suzuki factory in Thailand, where the Ciaz sold in Vietnam is sourced from.
In the first half of 2024, only eight units of the Ciaz were sold, making it one of the ten least-sold cars during that period.
Nissan Almera
According to our survey, several dealerships in Hanoi are offering discounts on the Nissan Almera, ranging from 77 to 116 million VND. Specifically, the Almera CVT has been reduced from 539 million to 432 million VND, while the CVT Luxury version has been discounted from 595 million to 479 million VND.
Additionally, the discount amount may vary depending on the car’s color. For instance, the Almera CVT in black, red, and orange is priced at 432 million VND, while other colors are offered at 462 million VND. Similarly, the Almera CVT Luxury in black and orange is priced at 479 million VND, with other colors discounted by 110 million to 485 million VND.

The Nissan Almera was introduced in the Vietnamese market in August 2021. In mid-2022, the model received upgrades, including leather seats, an improved air conditioning system, and support for Android Auto connectivity. Exterior enhancements included automatic folding mirrors, automatic headlights, and a center rearview mirror with LED trim.
The Almera is powered by a turbocharged 1.0L 3-cylinder gasoline engine that meets Euro 5 emissions standards, delivering 98.6 horsepower at 5,000 rpm and 152 Nm of torque at 2,400-4,000 rpm. The CVT version is equipped with a continuously variable transmission, three driving modes, and an Idling Stop feature that temporarily shuts off the engine.
Hyundai Accent

While inventories of the previous-generation Hyundai Accent are dwindling, some dealerships are offering discounts of up to 40-50 million VND to clear remaining stocks.
Specifically, the price of the Accent AT Special has been reduced from 545 million to 500 million VND in Central Vietnam, while in Hanoi, it is offered at an even lower price of 495 million VND. The Accent AT Standard version now costs 465 million VND, a discount of 40 million VND from its original price.
According to dealership information, the discounted Accent models are 2024 productions and are mainly available in red and white colors.
Honda City

Honda Vietnam (HVN) recently announced a promotion for its car models from August 5 to 31. The promotion includes models such as the CR-V, City, and Accord, and customers are required to complete a 100% payment.
Notably, the B-segment sedan Honda City receives significant incentives, with the G and L versions both offered with a 100% registration fee support, equivalent to a discount of 55 and 58 million VND, respectively. The City RS version comes with a 50% registration fee support, equivalent to a 30 million VND discount, and a free one-year body insurance. In addition to the manufacturer’s incentives, dealerships are offering additional cash discounts ranging from 10 to 30 million VND.
Toyota Vios

Joining the fray, Toyota Vietnam is offering a 50% registration fee support for the Vios in August 2024, equivalent to a discount of 23-27 million VND, depending on the version. In addition to the manufacturer’s incentives, Toyota Vios is offered with additional discounts ranging from 5 to 10 million VND, depending on the dealership.
According to Toyota Vietnam, a total of 5,960 units of the Toyota Vios were sold from the beginning of the year to the end of July 2024. Specifically, 1,745 units of this B-segment sedan were sold in July alone.
