During the afternoon session on August 3, the Party Central Committee considered the resignations of several leaders of central agencies and localities.

Based on the report of the Central Inspection Commission and the proposal of the Central Organization Commission, the Party Central Committee found that Messrs. Le Minh Khai, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister, former member of the Party Civil Affairs Committee, and Inspector General of the Government Inspectorate; Dang Quoc Khanh, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Party Civil Affairs Committee, and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, former Secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Ha Giang Provincial Delegation to the 15th National Assembly; Nguyen Xuan Ky, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee, and Chairman of the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Council; and Chau Van Lam, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee, and Head of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Delegation to the 15th National Assembly, had violated Party regulations in performing their duties and responsibilities, violated regulations on what party members must not do, and failed to set a good example in terms of morality and lifestyle, and in the prevention and fight against corruption and negative phenomena.
Aware of their responsibilities before the Party and the people, the above-mentioned officials have submitted their resignations from their assigned positions.

Based on current Party and State regulations and considering the wishes of the officials, the Party Central Committee agreed to accept the resignation of Mr. Le Minh Khai from his positions as member of the Party Central Committee and member of the Party Central Committee’s Executive Committee for the 13th term; and the resignations of Messrs. Dang Quoc Khanh, Nguyen Xuan Ky, and Chau Van Lam from their positions as members of the Party Central Committee for the 13th term.
The Political Bureau Proposes Central Committee Consider Disciplinary Action for Le Thanh Hai
The Politburo has proposed that the Party Central Committee consider disciplinary action against Mr. Le Thanh Hai, former Politburo member, former Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, and former Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. In a separate decision, the Politburo has decided to issue a warning to the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2010-2015 term.
