Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank – Code: VCB) has announced the dismissal of Mr. Lai Huu Phuoc, Head of the Supervisory Board for the 2023-2028 term, due to his transfer to another position.
Prior to this, Mr. Lai Huu Phuoc was appointed by the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) as Deputy Chief Inspector, Bank Supervision, under the SBV’s Bank Inspection and Supervision Agency, effective August 1, for a term of five years from the date of appointment.

Mr. Lai Huu Phuoc was born on September 28, 1967, in Thanh Binh, Thanh Liem, Ha Nam province. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the Hanoi University of Finance and Accounting, now known as the Academy of Finance.
With over 30 years of continuous work experience, Mr. Phuoc has held various positions, including three years as an accountant in a state-owned enterprise, 15 years at the State Audit Office of Vietnam, and 14 years at Vietcombank. During his time at Vietcombank, as a representative of the bank’s capital in Vietnam Airlines, he served as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Vietnam Airlines from March 2015 to April 2019.
Mr. Phuoc was elected as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Vietcombank for the term 2018-2023 from November 1, 2020, and was re-elected to the Supervisory Board for the term 2023-2028, retaining his position as Chairman.
In addition to his role as Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Mr. Lai Huu Phuoc also serves as a member of the Standing Committee of the Vietcombank Party Committee and Head of the Party Committee’s Inspection Commission for the term 2020-2025.
Replacing Mr. Phuoc, Vietcombank has appointed Ms. Tran My Hanh, a member of the Supervisory Board and Head of Internal Audit, as the member in charge of the Supervisory Board for the term 2023-2028.

Ms. Tran My Hanh, born in 1974, holds a post-graduate certificate in Applied Economics from the Fulbright Economics Teaching Program and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the Academy of Finance.
Since May 2002, she has held various positions at Vietcombank, including member of the Supervisory Board and Head of Internal Audit at the bank’s head office.
Currently, the Supervisory Board of Vietcombank comprises three members: Ms. Tran My Hanh, Ms. La Thi Hong Minh, and Ms. Do Thi Mai Huong.
