Quarterly Financial Statements of Enterprises for Q2 2024 as of August 1st:
Hoà Phát Group (stock code: HPG) released its Q2 2024 financial statement on July 31st, reporting a revenue of VND 39,555 billion, a 34% increase compared to the same period last year. As a result, Hoà Phát earned a pre-tax profit of VND 3,733 billion, a 120% surge from the previous year. The after-tax profit attributable to parent company shareholders reached VND 3,319 billion, marking a 127% increase. This is also the highest profit the company has achieved in the past two years.
On a cumulative basis for the first six months, Hoà Phát recorded a total revenue of VND 71,028 billion and an after-tax profit of VND 6,188 billion, representing a 26.6% and 238% rise, respectively, compared to the same period in 2023.
Vietnam Airlines (stock code: HVN) announced its Q2 2024 financial statement, showing a revenue of VND 24,858 billion, a 20.4% increase year-on-year. Notably, in Q2 2024, Vietnam Airlines recognized an other income of more than VND 900 billion. This was due to the company’s debt being written off. Consequently, the airline earned a pre-tax profit of VND 1,146 billion, while it incurred a loss of nearly VND 1,300 billion in the same period last year. The after-tax profit attributable to parent company shareholders was VND 934 billion, while it was negative in the previous year.
For the first six months, Vietnam Airlines recorded a total revenue of VND 53,126 billion, a nearly 20% increase compared to the same period in 2023. The after-tax profit attributable to parent company shareholders reached VND 5,258 billion, while it was more than VND 1,500 billion in losses in the previous year.
Vinhomes topped the list in terms of pre-tax profit in Q2 2024 with VND 12,248 billion. In Q1, this position was held by Vietcombank.
Following Vinhomes were seven banks (Vietcombank, BIDV, Techcombank, MB, VietinBank, ACB, and VPBank), and with the inclusion of HDBank in the 10th position, there were eight banks in the top 10 enterprises with the highest profits in Q2 2024. The remaining entity in the top 10 was PV Gas, ranking 9th with VND 4,329 billion in pre-tax profit.
Outside the top 10, Vingroup ranked 11th with VND 4,061 billion, followed by ACV (VND 3,999 billion), Hoà Phát (VND 3,733 billion), and Vinamilk (VND 3,308 billion).
Enterprises with the Highest Growth Rates in Q2 2024:
This quarter, numerous enterprises reported growth rates of up to hundreds or even tens of times compared to the same period last year, alongside those that turned losses into profits.
Nhà Từ Liêm (NTL) topped the list with an astonishing 73,189% growth rate in pre-tax profit, amounting to VND 495 billion.
Vietjet (VJC) ranked second with a nearly 195-fold increase, resulting in a pre-tax profit of VND 635 billion.
Thegioididong (MWG) stood at 12th place with a growth rate of over ten times.
Enterprises with the Largest Losses in Q2 2024:
Masan High-Tech Materials (MSR) headed the list with a pre-tax loss of VND 421 billion. There were ten enterprises with pre-tax losses exceeding VND 100 billion. Notably, the presence of EVN Genco3 in this list was quite unexpected, as the enterprise had a pre-tax profit of over VND 1,300 billion in the same period last year.
