The leadership and contributions of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong have helped Vietnam achieve success in its stable and prosperous development.

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was a great friend of Thailand and played a crucial role in promoting the stable and strong relationship between our two countries. The people of Thailand and all of us will forever remember General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.”

Kyril Whittaker, representing the leadership of the Communist Party of Great Britain, wrote in the book of condolences: “Farewell to a Revolutionary Comrade with the noblest qualities, a leader of the Vietnamese people, and a shining light of the Revolutionary Movement. May he rest in peace.”

General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong was a leader with great and particularly outstanding merits in the revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation. He left deep imprints in both theory and practice, reflected in the very important achievements bearing the historical mark of foreign affairs.

As an excellent theoretician, the General Secretary made tremendous contributions to the development of the foreign policy of Vietnam.

With his profound insight into Vietnam’s foreign policy over the past 70 years, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong systematically synthesized the diplomatic philosophy of our forefathers, the theory of Marxism-Leninism, the thought of Ho Chi Minh, and the foreign policy of the Party, thus creating a very unique and distinctive diplomatic and foreign affairs doctrine of the Ho Chi Minh era, imbued with the spirit of the “Vietnamese bamboo,” firmly rooted, flexible, and imbued with the soul, character, and spirit of the Vietnamese nation.

This foreign policy thought has permeated the consciousness and become a guiding principle for the foreign affairs and diplomacy of Vietnam.

The great contributions of the General Secretary have elevated Vietnam’s foreign affairs to new heights in all fields and activities.
