Toyota Vietnam (TMV) has announced impressive sales figures for July, with a total of 6,588 units sold across both the Toyota and Lexus brands, reflecting a 24% increase compared to the previous month. However, this growth was predominantly driven by Toyota, as Lexus witnessed a slight dip in sales, delivering 109 units, equivalent to 80% of the previous month’s performance, bringing the cumulative sales since its introduction in Vietnam to 13,027 units.
Focusing on Toyota, the brand sold 6,479 units, a 25% surge, comprising 2,970 domestically assembled vehicles and 3,509 imported units. This balance showcases the popularity of both locally assembled favorites like the Vios and Veloz Cross, and imported models such as the Corolla Cross, Yaris Cross, and Innova Cross, which have been gaining traction in recent times.
The Toyota Vios stood out with a remarkable 127% month-on-month growth, attributing 1,745 units sold in July, thanks to TMV’s strategic pricing adjustments. Similarly, the Yaris Cross witnessed a 52% increase in sales, with 1,242 units delivered, further emphasizing the strong performance of Toyota’s crossovers in the Vietnamese market.
Toyota’s Hybrid models are gradually gaining traction among customers, with 404 units sold in July, bringing the cumulative sales for the first seven months of 2024 to 2,085 units, an impressive 190% surge compared to the same period last year.
