“We trust Ha Long Shipyard to build the second 45,000 DWT ship with even better quality and a shorter construction timeline,” said Mr. Chi.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Tran Manh Ha, Acting General Director of Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, acknowledged that Ha Long Shipyard has successfully built multiple products, including the 21,000 – 23,000 DWT cargo ship series, for Dong Bac Company, meeting deadlines and quality standards. This laid a crucial foundation for Dong Bac Company to continue choosing Ha Long Shipyard for the construction of the 45,000 DWT cargo ship series.

Immediately after the successful launch of the first 45,000 DWT cargo ship, Ha Long Shipyard proceeded with the signing of the launching minutes and keel-laying ceremony for the second 45,000DWT vessel.
Congratulating Ha Long Shipyard and Dong Bac Shipbuilding Industry Company on the successful launch, Mr. Ha highlighted the event as a significant milestone in the construction and completion process. He attributed this achievement to the expertise and dedication of the company’s technical staff and skilled workers, as well as the effective collaboration between the shipowner, classification society, suppliers, and partners.
“This also clearly demonstrates the shipowner’s confidence in Ha Long Shipyard, creating a positive ripple effect within the entire Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation with our clients. In fact, several units within the Corporation have secured multiple ship-building contracts, ensuring employment for our workers until the end of 2027,” emphasized Mr. Ha.
Flood of Orders
Nguyen Tuan Anh, CEO of Ha Long Shipyard, shared: “In 2022 and 2023, Ha Long Shipyard signed a contract with the Dutch Damen Group for a series of 8 CSOV wind farm service vessels, and these vessels are currently being constructed according to schedule at the company.”
In July 2024, the company secured an additional contract with Damen for a series of 6 CSOV wind farm service vessels, bringing the total number of CSOV vessels ordered by Damen to 14, complying with the requirements of the DNV classification society. The first wind farm service vessel in the series will be launched on August 28, 2024, and delivered in March 2025. The delivery schedule for the subsequent vessels is set at one ship every three months, with the final ship expected to be delivered in May 2028.
