The Nhon Trach Bridge, located on Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 3, began construction in September 2022 with a total investment of over VND 1,600 billion.

The bridge spans over 2km in length, 19.75m in width, and includes a 560m-long approach road on both ends.

Nhon Trach Bridge is the largest bridge on Ho Chi Minh City’s Ring Road 3. It is part of the Component Project 1A of the Tan Van – Nhon Trach section (phase 1) of the Ring Road 3 project. The entire project is 8.75km long with a total investment of over VND 6,955 billion.

The Nhon Trach Bridge is being constructed by Kumho E&C, a South Korean contractor. The construction began on September 24, 2022, and is planned to be completed by August 2025.

However, the contractor is currently aiming to complete the project ahead of schedule, targeting April 30, 2025.

To expedite the completion of the Nhon Trach Bridge, the My Thuan Project Management Unit (investor) has implemented various solutions and urged the contractors to mobilize workers and equipment to accelerate the construction progress.

This includes mobilizing engineers, workers, and equipment to work in dozens of shifts, with 3 shifts and 4 teams. The workers work around the clock, including during holidays and Tet, to ensure a faster completion of the project.

Workers are hard at work constructing the Nhon Trach Bridge.

As of now, the construction progress of the Nhon Trach Bridge has reached 77.55%.

The contractor has installed 44 beams for the approach bridge on the Ho Chi Minh City side and 24 beams on the Dong Nai side.

The My Thuan Project Management Unit is requesting the Ministry of Transport to coordinate with local authorities and the inter-ministerial working group to expedite the necessary procedures and facilitate the access to sand sources for the project. They are also seeking approval for changes in technical solutions, especially for treating weak soil foundations to ensure the quality of the project and shorten the construction time.

In June 2024, the Ministry of Transport submitted a report to the Prime Minister, proposing an adjustment to the investment policy for the 1A project, Tan Van – Nhon Trach section (phase 1) of the Ring Road 3 project. The total investment is proposed to increase from over VND 6,955 billion to over VND 9,268 billion.

The increase in total investment is intended for the construction of an additional Nhon Trach Bridge similar to the one currently under construction, to expand the route. It will also cover the implementation of an intelligent transportation system (ITS), a non-stop toll collection system (ETC), a vehicle weight inspection station, and other technical solutions.

The Nhon Trach Bridge, connecting Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City) and Nhon Trach District (Dong Nai Province), is taking shape.

The CW2 package (5.6km-long approach road on both ends of the Nhon Trach Bridge) is valued at over VND 1,000 billion and is implemented by a joint venture between Dongbu Corporation (South Korea) and VNCN E&C Company (Vietnam).

The CW2 package commenced construction in May 2023 and is scheduled for completion in September 2025.

The Nhon Trach Bridge is a key transportation project of significant importance to the socioeconomic development of the Southeast region. Upon completion, it will reduce travel time between Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City, boost trade, and promote socioeconomic development in the region.
