During a visit to MG’s headquarters in China, local media had the opportunity to experience and test drive the soon-to-be-released MG7 in Vietnam. The MG7 is positioned as a D-segment sedan, competing with the likes of the Toyota Camry, Mazda6, and Honda Accord.

The MG7 is expected to arrive soon in the Vietnamese market.

According to dealers, the MG7 in Vietnam will include three versions, tentatively named Trophy+, Luxury, and Deluxe. The car will offer two engine options: a 1.5L and a 2.0L, according to sources.

The MG7 targets a niche market segment, competing not only with other cars in its class but also with consumer preferences.

The 1.5L gasoline engine produces 185 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0L gasoline engine generates 257 horsepower and 405 Nm of torque, mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission.

The MG7 Trophy+, the top-of-the-line model, was presented at the event in China. In practice, the MG7 Trophy+ features an X Mode sports driving mode. When activated, the car enters a track racing and drag simulation mode, accompanied by a powerful sound from the exhaust system.

The modern interior is expected to appeal to those interested in the D-segment.

The car features a modern interior with a dual-screen setup, including a 14.1-inch and a 25.12-inch display on the top-tier model. In China, the fully-optioned model also boasts a Bose sound system and a panoramic sunroof. The steering wheel sports a sleek, sporty design.

According to multiple reputable sources, the first MG7 units have already arrived in Hanoi. MG Vietnam is expected to launch the MG7 in August, with pricing details yet to be revealed. However, it is anticipated to be a “shockingly” competitive price, following the trend of other MG models introduced in Vietnam.
