Honda Vietnam (HVN) has announced the launch date for the new version of its C-segment sedan, the Civic. The all-new Honda Civic will officially debut in the Vietnamese market in October 2024.

The most notable feature of the new Honda Civic will be the introduction of a hybrid model named the e:HEV RS, boasting an impressive 200 horsepower and a 12-speaker Bose sound system.

In addition to the hybrid model, the gasoline engine option will still be available for this model with the RS and G versions. The gasoline engine delivers a maximum output of 176 horsepower (131 kW) at 6,000 rpm and a peak torque of up to 240 Nm in the range of 1,700 – 4,500 rpm.

Many Honda dealerships across the country have started taking reservations for the new Civic. According to dealer information, the 2025 Honda Civic will continue to be imported from Thailand, and prices may see a slight increase.

Additionally, dealers have mentioned that there will be some changes to the exterior of the 2025 Civic. For instance, the front grille will be separated from the headlights, and the front air intake will be redesigned. In terms of safety features, the new Civic may be equipped with front and rear collision sensors, similar to the Thai version.

In the Vietnamese market, the Toyota Corolla Altis is currently the only C-segment sedan offering a hybrid option, with a starting price of 870 million VND. Therefore, the introduction of the 2025 Civic with its hybrid powertrain is expected to boost Honda Vietnam’s competitiveness in the C-segment sedan market.

Prior to the Honda Civic e:HEV RS, Honda also launched a hybrid version of its C-segment crossover, the CR-V, which has been well-received by customers.

Cumulative sales of C-segment sedans in Vietnam for the first six months of 2024 reached 5,369 units. The Mazda 3 leads the segment with 2,054 units sold, followed by the Kia K3 with 1,510 units. The Hyundai Elantra ranks third with 811 units sold, followed by the Honda Civic with 786 units, and finally the Toyota Corolla Altis with 208 units.
