The infrastructure development projects for the industrial clusters (ICs) in Bac Giang province that have been approved for schedule adjustments by the Provincial People’s Committee include: Thanh Son IC (Son Dong); Phuong Son IC (Luc Ngan); Phuong Son – Dai Lam IC (Luc Nam and Lang Giang districts); Dai Lam IC (southern area), Dai Lam 2 IC (both in Lang Giang district); and Dong Dinh IC (Tan Yen). The investors for these ICs are all enterprises.
The Bac Giang Department of Industry and Trade is currently appraising the dossiers requesting schedule adjustments for infrastructure development and additional industries for the Dinh Tri, Tan My, and My An ICs (in Bac Giang city and Luc Ngan district, respectively).
It is understood that the above-mentioned ICs have fallen behind schedule by one to nine years, resulting in a waste of land resources, delayed investment attraction, and slowed local industrial and socio-economic development.
According to the Bac Giang Department of Industry and Trade, in addition to the Dong Dinh, Dinh Tri, and Tan My ICs being delayed due to difficulties in site clearance, the newly established ICs in 2022 (Thanh Son, Phuong Son, Phuong Son – Dai Lam, etc.) are also mostly behind schedule due to obstacles in regional planning, communal master planning, and traffic connections. The southern area of Dai Lam IC is facing delays due to pending procedures for converting rice land use purposes.
Additionally, the investors of some ICs, such as Tan My, Tien Hung (Luc Nam), Trung Son – Ninh Son (Viet Yen town), Phuong Son, and My An (Luc Ngan), have not proactively coordinated with relevant authorities and units to implement the projects.
Bac Giang province currently has 55 ICs, 14 of which are invested in by the People’s Committees of the districts, and 41 are invested in by enterprises. To expedite the infrastructure development of these ICs and attract secondary investors for production and business activities, the Bac Giang Provincial People’s Committee has directed the Departments of Industry and Trade, Construction, Planning and Investment, Natural Resources and Environment, Transport, and the People’s Committees of districts, towns, and cities to support investors in site clearance, land dossier adjustments, and traffic connection procedures, among other things. This will ensure that the time extension requests for the year 2026, as per the issued decisions, are met.
