Images of the latest Wuling Hongguang have been revealed in filings by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). Specifically, this is the extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) 1.5L version with a maximum power of 73 kW.
Previously, the all-new 2025 Wuling Hongguang gasoline and electric versions were also unveiled. The pure electric version is estimated to have a range of 300 km. The current official price range of the Wuling Hongguang is from RMB 46,500 to RMB 60,900 (USD 6,500 – 8,500), which is only VND 153 million converted.
The exterior of the Wuling Hongguang EREV is similar to the gasoline and pure electric versions. All three versions feature a new sleek and minimalist design for 2025. The new model also has a significantly larger windshield compared to the 2024 version.
The rear of the car continues the minimalist design with vertically arranged taillights and a large rear door for convenient cargo loading. Just looking from the back, it is almost impossible to distinguish whether the car is powered by fuel, extended-range, or pure electric.
In terms of body size, the dimensions of the 2025 Wuling Hongguang are 4515/1725/1790 mm, with a wheelbase of 2850 mm. Under the hood, the Wuling Hongguang is powered by a 1.5-liter LBH engine from Saike Tech. Its maximum power output is 73 kW (98 hp).
The power of the electric motor has not yet been revealed. In terms of batteries, this is an 8.5 kWh LFP package produced by Ningfu New Energy or RPSK for a range of 43 km.
The Wuling Hongguang is a popular model in China’s automotive industry. The car was first launched in 2010 and has sold nearly 5 million units in its first decade on the market.
The Hongguang is marketed to cities like Harbin and Kunming. These cities have small and large business fields, making them ideal target markets for automobiles.
The 2025 Wuling Hongguang marks another evolution of this model, as previously it was only available as a pure electric version. The Wuling Hongguang is positioned as a compact MPV, and the current models offer both cargo and passenger versions. Wuling has achieved great success with the small electric car Wuling Hongguang Mini EV, with sales of over 1.1 million units.
This model is also now available in the Vietnamese market at extremely attractive prices. The latest listed price of the Wuling Mini EV LV2-120 is VND 197 million, while the Mini EV LV2-170 version is priced at VND 231 million. The policy of adding VND 3 million to the selling price for two-tone roof colors still applies.
The company believes that with the newly announced selling price, the Wuling Mini EV continues to be the most affordable car on the market today in Vietnam.
