CafeF, on August 12th, announced that PNJ is among the top PRIVATE 100 – a list of the largest tax-contributing private enterprises in Vietnam. In terms of industry groups, PNJ is the largest tax contributor in the jewelry retail industry and ranks 2nd among the top retail businesses in the country.

With the global economy facing numerous challenges and uncertainties, the contribution of enterprises to the state budget becomes an essential indicator of their responsibility and impact on the country’s development.

To recognize the importance of the private sector in the economy, honor, and spread the spirit of social service, CafeF has established PRIVATE 100 – a list of the largest tax-contributing private enterprises in Vietnam.

PNJ ranks among the top 2 tax-contributing retail businesses in Vietnam

In this list, PNJ ranks 2nd among the top 9 private enterprises in the distribution-retail sector of the ‘PRIVATE 100 – Leading Group’ honor roll. The company’s total tax contribution for 2023 was VND 1,418 billion, bringing its tax contribution to nearly VND 4,500 billion in the last three years. This money will support crucial activities such as education, healthcare, infrastructure, national defense, and contribute to the country’s economic and social development.

According to the organizers, only about 40 enterprises in the ‘PRIVATE 100 – Leading Group’ list contributed more than VND 1,000 billion in taxes, with the banking sector accounting for 12 names. Non-financial enterprises that reached this figure are leaders in large-scale economic sectors and have operated efficiently in the past year.

2023 was a challenging year for the retail market, with many unforeseeable factors affecting the operations of retail businesses, such as slow economic growth and consumers tightening their spending.

Despite the challenging market conditions, PNJ still achieved impressive results, with net revenue of VND 33,137 billion and after-tax profit of VND 1,971 billion in 2023. The company’s tax contribution is not only a legal responsibility but also demonstrates its social responsibility. Additionally, the large tax contribution reflects PNJ’s superior scale of operations and business efficiency, instilling confidence in investors, partners, and customers, and contributing to the sustainable development of the retail industry and the national economy.

Over the past 36 years, PNJ has carried out numerous meaningful activities that bring value to the community, such as the Mini Supermarket 0 VND program, childbirth companionship program, the project to raise awareness about autism in Vietnamese children, the Happy Young Family project, and the donation of nearly 500 Warm Homes … The company also actively accompanies the government at all levels in social security programs to promote the development and welfare of local communities.
