On August 14, sources revealed that the People’s Committee of Da Lat City had issued an administrative fine to NTH Da Lat Entertainment Service Company Limited (NTH Da Lat Company), represented by Mr. Tran Ngoc Thach, located at 23 Quang Trung, Ward 9, Da Lat City.

NTH Dalat Company’s high-quality entertainment area operating as a hotel.

During an inspection in late July 2024, authorities discovered that the Dalat High-Quality Entertainment Area, known as Dalat Prince and located at 23 Quang Trung, had 104 guests staying there. Among them were 96 domestic guests with a lodging contract from July 27 to July 31 and eight foreign guests who booked rooms from July 22 to July 27.

The authorities determined that the company had been engaging in business activities in a sector that requires special conditions for security and order while their certificate for meeting those conditions had been revoked. Based on the relevant regulations, the unit was fined 30 million VND (approximately $1,290).

In a recent press briefing, Mr. Hoang Viet Lam, Deputy Director of the Lam Dong Provincial Planning and Investment Department, confirmed that they had inspected and reported to the Provincial People’s Committee regarding this project.

Consequently, the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee has ordered NTH Da Lat Company to cease tourism business operations at 23 Quang Trung and comply with the approved investment objectives.

The Provincial People’s Committee has also instructed relevant departments to review the previous procedures followed for this project. Specifically, the Department of Construction is to scrutinize the permitting process, the police will review the fire safety certification, and the Provincial Tax Department will examine the financial obligations related to the investor.

“The investor of this project must halt operations as they have deviated from the approved project objectives,” asserted Mr. Hoang Viet Lam.

According to the investment certificate issued by the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee to this project in late 2012, the objectives included investing in the construction of a high-quality entertainment area with digital 2D and 3D movie theaters, bowling, and other entertainment services.

In December 2023, the Lam Dong Provincial People’s Committee expressed their decision not to consider adjusting the investment objectives of the project and instructed NTH Da Lat Company to operate according to the approved investment objectives. However, since its completion and commencement of operations, the project has been functioning as a hotel until now.
