Honda Vario 125 Scooter 2024: Unveiling Four Fresh Colorways with a Slight Price Hike

Honda has unveiled the 2024 edition of its Vario 125 scooter for the Malaysian market, featuring new color options and a recommended retail price of 7,268 RM (approximately 41 million VND), excluding tax, insurance, and registration. This price is a slight increase from the 2023 model, which retailed for 7,080 RM (40 million VND).

Malaysian customers who purchase the Honda Vario 125 will receive a two-year or 20,000 km warranty for manufacturing defects. The new color options for the Vario 125 in Malaysia are Magenta, Black, Silver, and Red, replacing the previous year’s colors of Yellow, Blue, and Red. The scooter is expected to be available at all authorized Implant X and Boon Siew Honda dealers from August 17 onwards.

Certified as an Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV), the Vario 125 is equipped with a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder SOHC engine with a displacement of 124.9 cc. According to Honda, the Vario 125 is capable of producing 11.5 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and 11.74 Nm of torque at 5,000 rpm. The power is transmitted from the engine to the rear wheel through a CVT gearbox and belt drive. The Vario 125 features 14-inch wheels, with 90/80 tires at the front and 100/80 rubber at the rear.

While it does not have ABS, the Vario is fitted with hydraulic disc brakes at the front and mechanical drum brakes at the rear, along with Honda’s combined braking system. The suspension setup includes conventional telescopic forks and a single adjustable preload rear shock absorber.

Additionally, the Vario 125 comes with a smartkey system that includes a theft alarm, vehicle locator alarm, and stop & go functionality. Other features include an 18-liter under-seat storage compartment, a USB charging port at the front of the vehicle, an LCD instrument panel with LED lighting, and more. The 2024 Honda Vario 125 has a weight of 112 kg, which includes a 5.5-liter fuel tank. The seat height is set at 769 mm.
