On August 15th, Cuu Long Concrete Joint Stock Company commenced sand mining operations at a new mine on the Hau River, in Phong Nam and An Lac Tay communes, Ke Sach district, Soc Trang province. The sand will be supplied for the construction of the Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang Expressway, Phase 1.
Spanning an area of 34 hectares, the mine is permitted to extract nearly 1.2 million cubic meters of sand until the end of August 2028.
This is one of five sand mines on the Hau River in Soc Trang province that have been licensed for extraction by contractors under a special mechanism to facilitate the construction of Component Project 4 of the Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang Expressway. The total sand reserves of these five mines exceed 11 million cubic meters.
The Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang Expressway, Phase 1, boasts a scale of four lanes and a total investment of over VND 44,000 billion from the state budget. The project is divided into four component projects, with the People’s Committees of the respective provinces and cities acting as investors for the sections passing through their localities. Component Project 4, traversing Soc Trang province, spans over 58 kilometers with a total investment of nearly VND 12,000 billion.
The Highway to Success: Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang via Hau Giang Ahead of Schedule
On the evening of August 7th, the Provincial Committee and People’s Committee of Hau Giang Province, Vietnam, organized a special visit to boost the morale of engineers, workers, and all those involved in the construction of Component 3 of the Chau Doc – Can Tho – Soc Trang Highway Project, Phase 1. This visit aimed to encourage the dedicated individuals and units to accelerate their efforts and strive for an early completion of this significant project.
