The Central Executive Committee of the Party elected three additional members to the Secretariat, including:
– Comrade Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Member of the Party Central Committee and Chief of the Party Central Committee’s Office;
– Senior Lieutenant General Trinh Van Quyet, Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the Central Military Commission, and Chief of the General Political Department of the Vietnam People’s Army;
– Comrade Le Minh Tri, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Delegation, and Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People’s Procuracy.

With these new appointments, the Secretariat for the 13th term now consists of 12 members. They are: General Secretary and President To Lam; Permanent Member of the Secretariat Luong Cuong; Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission Tran Cam Tu; Head of the Central Committee for Internal Affairs Phan Dinh Trac; Chief Judge of the Supreme People’s Court of Vietnam Nguyen Hoa Binh; President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien; Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia; Head of the Central Organization Commission Le Minh Hung; Head of the Central Committee for Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung; Chief of the Party Central Committee’s Office Nguyen Duy Ngoc; Chief Prosecutor of the Supreme People’s Procuracy Le Minh Tri; and Chief of the General Political Department Trinh Van Quyet.
During the conference, the Central Executive Committee also elected Minister Luong Tam Quang as a member of the Political Bureau.

The Politburo has proposed that the Party Central Committee consider disciplinary action against Mr. Le Thanh Hai, former Politburo member, former Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, and former Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City. In a separate decision, the Politburo has decided to issue a warning to the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the 2010-2015 term.
