The $39 Million Honda Scooter is Coming to Southeast Asia: Packing a Fuel-Efficient 125cc Engine and Premium Features

Indonesian media reports that Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has recently registered the industrial design rights for their new 125cc scooter, the Honda NX125RX. This indicates a potential expansion of the NX125RX into Southeast Asian markets, as the scooter has already been manufactured and distributed in China.

The Honda NX125RX 2024 model boasts a sporty and robust design. With overall dimensions of 1,767 mm in length, 683 mm in width, and 1,115 mm in height, a wheelbase of 1,246 mm, a ground clearance of 132 mm, a fuel tank capacity of 5.7 liters, and a weight of 106 kg, this scooter is built to impress.

The NX125RX shares similarities with the Honda Vario, particularly in its front design. It features a distinctive V-shaped LED headlight with positioning lights, creating a bold and modern look.

The scooter also comes equipped with a range of features, including LED headlights, a leather seat, a digital instrument panel, a USB charging port, and a storage compartment capable of accommodating a helmet. Additional notable features include a Smart Key system, I-STOP technology, and an ACG electric starter system.

In terms of braking, the Honda NX125RX 2024 model is fitted with a front disc brake and a rear drum brake. The CBS version utilizes combined braking technology, while the ABS version employs anti-lock braking technology.

Powering the NX125RX is a 124cc engine that delivers 9.4 horsepower at 7,750 rpm and a maximum torque of 10 Nm at 5,750 rpm. Both the CBS and ABS versions offer impressive fuel efficiency, with a claimed consumption of 52.5 km/l.

The Honda NX125RX 2024 was initially launched in the Chinese market with two variants. The NX125RX CBS was priced at 11,999 CNY (approximately 39.3 million VND), while the NX125RX ABS retailed for 12,499 CNY (around 40.9 million VND).
