The State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) has made several key appointments, effective from August 2024. Mr. Lai Huu Phuoc, formerly of Vietcombank, has been appointed as the Deputy Chief Inspector of the Bank Supervision and Inspection Department, assuming his role on the 1st of August. With over 30 years of experience, Mr. Phuoc brings a wealth of knowledge to the position, including his work as an accountant in state-owned enterprises, his time at the State Audit Office of Vietnam, and his most recent role at Vietcombank.

Mr. Phuoc has had a distinguished career at Vietcombank, serving as their representative at Vietnam Airlines and holding the position of Chief Supervisor at the airline from 2015 to 2019. He was elected as Chief Supervisor of Vietcombank for the term 2018-2023 and re-elected for the term 2023-2028. His expertise and leadership have been invaluable to the bank’s success.

In other appointments, Ms. Huynh Nhat Le has been tasked with heading the Department of Bank Supervision and Inspection I, effective August 1st, 2024. The SBV has also reappointed Mr. Bui Van Hai as Deputy Director of the Department of Safety Supervision of Credit Institutions (Cục IV). Additionally, Mr. Nguyen Quang Hai and Mr. Bui Anh Tuan have been reappointed as Deputy Chiefs of the Office of the Bank Supervision and Inspection Department.
