Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) recently held an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders (GMOS) on August 19. At the meeting, the GMOS of Vietcombank passed several resolutions, including the election of supplementary members to the Board of Management and the Supervisory Board for the term 2023 – 2028, as well as amendments to the bank’s Charter and Internal Rules.

In terms of personnel decisions, the GMOS elected Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Acting Chief Inspector of the Banking Inspection and Supervision Department of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV), as a new member of the Board of Management for the term 2023 – 2028.

Additionally, the GMOS approved the appointment of three new members to the Supervisory Board. Ms. Dinh Thi Thai was elected as the Head of the Supervisory Board for the term 2023-2028. Prior to this role, Ms. Thai served as Deputy General Director of Vietcombank.

The other two newly elected members of the Supervisory Board are Ms. Truong Thi Dieu Que, Director of the Trade Finance Center, and Mr. Trinh Ngoc An, Director of Vietcombank Thanh Hoa Branch.

Ms. Dinh Thi Thai, Ms. Truong Thi Dieu Que, and Mr. Trinh Ngoc An were elected by the GMOS as members of the Supervisory Board for the term 2023 – 2028.

These elections come after several key leadership changes at Vietcombank, with some members being reassigned or appointed to new positions by the SBV.

Most recently, Mr. Lai Huu Phuoc, former Head of the Supervisory Board of Vietcombank, was appointed by the SBV as Deputy Chief Inspector of the Banking Inspection and Supervision Department, effective August 1, for a term of five years.

With these latest appointments, the Board of Management of Vietcombank now comprises nine members, while the Supervisory Board has six members.
