According to initial information, starting this morning (August 22), approximately 1,000 workers at Alena Vietnam Shoe Co., Ltd. simultaneously stopped working and gathered in the company premises to demand additional overtime pay from the employer.

Several workers shared that despite working two to four hours of overtime, the company did not provide meal allowances, which is supposed to be given for night shifts as per regulations. Furthermore, some workers felt that the gifts they received on holidays and birthdays were not commensurate with the union fees they had been paying…

Upon receiving this information, representatives from the provincial and district labor federations and relevant authorities immediately went to the company to listen to the workers’ concerns and collaborate with the employer to protect the workers’ rights and legal interests.
