Kia Carnival 2024 Now Accepting Deposits
A dealership sales consultant in Hanoi has revealed that they have started accepting deposits for the new Kia Carnival. According to the consultant, this minivan/MPV model from Kia will be launched in the Vietnamese market in October this year. Currently, THACO has not released any information about the 2024 Kia Carnival.
Previously, almost a month ago, this car model was spotted at the emission testing center in Hanoi. This is the first time the facelift version of the Kia Carnival has appeared in Vietnam since its global launch in late 2023.
During its previous appearance, two 2024 Kia Carnival vehicles were spotted at the emission testing center. One of them was equipped with a square-patterned rim similar to the one currently sold in the international market. The front and rear of the car were completely covered.
What’s New in the Kia Carnival 2024?
Compared to the previous version, the 2024 Kia Carnival retains its overall design. The vehicle’s dimensions remain unchanged as it is only a mid-cycle upgrade.
Some new design elements of this minivan include the front end, taillights, and rims. The main headlights on the Carnival are now placed vertically, reminiscent of the Cadillac Escalade. The grille is larger, and the taillights combine both horizontal and vertical elements. These design features are characteristic of newer Kia models, including the Sorento, Seltos, and Morning. The rims also feature a more intricate design.
Additionally, the license plate area has been lowered, and the trunk handle has been rearranged to be less exposed, creating a more seamless design.
The interior of the upgraded Carnival has also been refined and looks more modern. Behind the steering wheel are a pair of 12.3-inch curved screens with a refreshed interface, housed under the same glass panel, and featuring a head-up display (HUD) in front of the driver. The center control cluster has a touch-sensitive, minimalist design and can be customized between media and air conditioning interfaces similar to the Kia Sportage with a simple gesture.
Other notable convenience features of the 2024 Carnival in South Korea include the Ergo Motion driver’s seat with air cushions, rear seats with integrated massage function, and multi-layered sound-insulating glass for the rear cabin. It is not yet clear whether the version to be sold in Vietnam in the coming period will retain these features, as they would enhance its competitiveness against the VW Viloran.
The 2024 Carnival in Indonesia continues to offer the 3.5L and 2.2L gasoline engine options. In addition, Kia has introduced a new hybrid powertrain, combining a 1.6L turbocharged gasoline engine with an electric motor to deliver a total output of 245 horsepower and 367 Nm of torque. According to Kia, this powertrain achieves a fuel economy of 14km/l (approximately 7.1 liters/100km).
The safety technology of the 2024 Carnival remains packed with advanced ADAS features as before but has been further refined. It is no surprise that the highest-end version in Vietnam will continue to offer the ADAS package, as it is the vehicle with the most advanced safety technologies in its segment.
