Lamborghini has unveiled its new Revuelto and Temerario supercars, marking a significant upgrade from the Aventador and Huracan models. The reveal took place at the Monterey Car Week, alongside the introduction of the Urus family’s new SE plug-in hybrid variant. These new models offer improved performance and speed but come at a higher price tag. Despite this, Lamborghini is on track for record-breaking sales in 2024.
“Since the end of the Covid pandemic, we’ve seen a ‘YOLO’ effect—a trend that embraces the idea of ‘you only live once’. Despite the global and geopolitical crises, we’ve been performing strongly, and people are still eager to buy our cars. We have a very long waiting list,” Winkelmann told Yahoo! Finance in Monterey.
“Hopefully, so far so good, this year is going in a perfect way because we had another record in the first six months of 2024, so if it continues like this, then 2024 will be a very good year for Lamborghini as well.”

Lamborghini has been thriving due to the widespread YOLO trend.
In the first half of the year, Lamborghini delivered 5,558 vehicles to customers worldwide, a significant 14% increase compared to the same period in 2023. Last year, the company crossed the 10,000-unit mark for the first time, selling 10,112 vehicles. If this trend continues in the second half of 2024, Lamborghini could end the year with sales of over 11,000 units.
In his interview with Yahoo!, Winkelmann also discussed the new Temerario, the highly anticipated successor to the beloved Huracan.
While some purists may be disappointed by Lamborghini’s departure from the Huracan’s 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine in favor of a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with three electric motors, Winkelmann believes this move is the “right direction for Lamborghini.”
“You have to have better performance than the previous generation, and this includes handling behavior, so the power-to-weight ratio is crucial for our success,” he said. “On the other hand, you have to reduce emissions. Emissions are reduced thanks to the battery system, but the battery system also improves performance, and this combination, in my opinion, is the right direction for Lamborghini.”
No Lamborghini will be weaker than 1,300 horsepower after this change, but something important has to be compromised.
Lamborghini has set very clear and strict standards for itself to not compromise its brand image in the era of electrification.
The Vietnamese Business that Said ‘No’ to Lamborghini.
“The renowned Italian automobile manufacturer, Lamborghini, made a surprising proposal to a Vietnamese enterprise. They offered a collaboration to export tiles under the prestigious brand name, ‘Lamborghini Handmade Tile’. However, in an unexpected turn of events, the Vietnamese company declined the opportunity. This decision left many wondering about the potential impact on the industry and the reasons behind such a bold move.”
