According to Car and Driver, the VinFast VF 9 all-electric SUV is set to be delivered to customers in September 2024, a year after the company first announced its impressive range figures for the US market.
VinFast has since reduced the starting price of the VF 9 by $10,000, with the Eco version now retailing for $71,000 (approximately VND 1.77 billion) and the Plus version for $75,000 (around VND 1.87 billion).
The VF 9 is the largest model in VinFast’s lineup, boasting impressive dimensions: 5,120 mm in length, 2,000 mm in width, 1,721 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 3,150 mm.
The VF 9 comes loaded with premium features, including an extended LED light bar that forms a distinctive wing shape, the brand’s signature ‘V’ logo, full LED Matrix headlights, body-colored side mirrors with integrated turn signals, power-folding and heating functions, and 20-inch (Eco) or 21-inch (Plus) multi-spoke alloy wheels.
The interior of the VF 9 is just as impressive, featuring a massive 15.6-inch central infotainment screen with the Vivi virtual assistant, a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, wireless charging, an electronic parking brake, auto-dimming mirrors, power-adjustable front seats, and more.
Under the hood, the VF 9 is equipped with a 123.0 kWh battery pack that powers two electric motors, delivering a combined output of 402 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque. With this setup, VinFast claims the VF 9 can sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 6.6 seconds and charge from 10% to 70% in just 35 minutes using a DC fast charger.
The EPA has certified the VF 9 with an impressive range of 330 miles (531 km) for the Eco version and 291 miles (468 km) for the Plus version.
In the US market, the VinFast VF 9 will go head-to-head with the high-end variants of the Kia EV9 and Rivian R1S.
