Unlocking Golden Opportunities: Vietcombank Launches Gold Bar Sales via App

Vietcombank (HOSE: VCB) is announcing a shift in its gold purchasing services. From August 27, 2024, customers will no longer be able to schedule appointments for SJC gold bar purchases on the bank's website or make over-the-counter payments for the same. The bank is transitioning to an app-based model for a more streamlined and convenient user experience.

As of August 27, 2024, Vietcombank introduces a new feature for purchasing SJC gold bars through VCB Digibank.

Concurrently, Vietcombank will discontinue its gold bar purchase scheduling service on its website and over-the-counter gold payment transactions.

According to Vietcombank, the new gold bar purchase feature on VCB Digibank will enable customers to conduct transactions anytime, anywhere from their mobile phones, eliminating the need for over-the-counter payments.

To purchase SJC gold bars via the app, customers can select the maximum quantity, location, and a suitable time for pickup, adhering to current regulations.

Prior to placing an order, customers are required to review and update their personal information displayed on the transaction screen. They also need to: (1) Choose the maximum quantity, pickup location, and time as per regulations; (2) Review and update their personal details on the transaction screen; (3) Make the gold purchase payment directly through the VCB Digibank app and receive an electronic invoice via their registered email; (4) Obtain an appointment schedule with specific information about the time and location of gold pickup through OTT/email messages on their registered VCB Digibank account.
