Mrs. Truong Nguyen Thien Kim announced a related-party transaction of an insider of Vietcap Joint Stock Company (code VCI-HOSE)

Accordingly, Mrs. Truong Nguyen Thien Kim has registered to sell 13 million VCI shares to meet personal needs. The transaction is expected to be executed from September 4 to October 3 by matching and/or agreement.

Mrs. Kim is the wife of Mr. To Hai, who is the General Director and Member of the Board of Directors of Vietcap. Mr. Hai currently holds more than 99.1 million VCI shares, representing 22.44% of the capital in VCI.

At the closing trading session on August 27, the VCI share price dropped to 48,050 VND/share. Therefore, Mrs. Kim could recoup approximately VND 625 billion if she completes the entire transaction.

At the same time, the company appointed Mr. Doan Minh Thien, Deputy General Director, to the additional position of Authorized Person for Information Disclosure from August 26, replacing Mr. Dinh Quang Hoan.

It is known that Mrs. Kim also holds multiple positions in several other businesses. According to the 2023 Annual Report of Ben Thanh Commercial Services Joint Stock Company (code BTT) – where Mrs. Thien Kim serves as an Independent Member of the Board of Directors, she is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of D1 Concepts JSC; Member of the Board of Directors and General Director of Cafe Katinat JSC, Member of the Board of Supervisors of Western Bus Station Joint Stock Company (code: WCS); Member of the Board of Directors of International Dairy Joint Stock Company (code: IDP); and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Phela Joint Stock Company.

According to BTT’s semi-annual governance report for 2024, Mrs. Kim served as an independent member of the Board of Directors from May 26, 2021, to June 28, 2024.

Regarding Vietcap’s business performance in the second quarter of 2024, the company recorded a pre-tax profit of VND 344 billion, up 163% over the same period last year. In the first six months of 2024, pre-tax profit reached VND 571 billion, up 170% over the same period and completing 82% of Vietcap’s plan for the year 2024 of VND 700 billion.

As of the end of June 2024, Vietcap’s total equity reached VND 8,859 billion, an increase of 20% compared to the end of 2023.

For the year 2024, Vietcap plans to achieve a revenue of VND 2,511 billion and a pre-tax profit of VND 700 billion, up 2% and 23%, respectively, compared to the previous year. Thus, after the first half of the year, the company has completed 81% of its profit target.
