Uncovering an Illegal Gas Distribution Ring: Seizing 10 Tons of Gas and 2 Tanker Trucks

Authorities raided a facility along the Duong River in Bac Ninh and caught six individuals red-handed, engaging in illegal gas refilling and distribution activities.

On August 27, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoang, Deputy Director of the Market Management Department of Bac Ninh province, said that his unit had just coordinated with the Bac Ninh Provincial Police and the Police of Thuan Thanh Town to detect illegal gas transshipment at a yard by the Duong River, in the area of Dao Tu ward, Song Ho ward, Thuan Thanh Town.

The authorities temporarily confiscated two tanker trucks and hundreds of gas cylinders from the illegal gas transshipment facility in Bac Ninh.

At around 12:45 on August 20, the functional forces of Bac Ninh province raided a facility owned by Mr. Nguyen Van Dong (born in 1983) and caught six people in the act of illegally transshipping gas.

At the time of the inspection, the authorities discovered two tanker trucks with license plates 29C-954.99 and 57R-4252n, containing over 10 tons of gas, along with machinery, equipment, and tools used for illegal gas transshipment, including pumps, pipes, wires, filling nozzles, electronic scales, and more than 300 cylinders and shells of well-known brands such as Hong Ha, Thang Long, Venus, and Van Loc.

Mr. Dong could not present invoices or documents related to the seized items and vehicles and admitted that he did not have a license from the authorities to engage in gas transshipment.

The functional forces have made a record and temporarily confiscated the vehicles and equipment used for illegal gas transshipment for further investigation and handling according to regulations.
