Prior to the arrival of the Indian delegation, leaders of the Ninh Binh Tourism Department were present early to inspect the preparations. At Trang An wharf, from the afternoon of August 27, the tourism management board prepared human resources, banners, and flowers to welcome the largest MICE delegation from India to Vietnam.
Around 11 a.m. on August 28, the first guests of the 4,500-member delegation, brought to Vietnam by an Indian billionaire, arrived at Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex.
Mr. Pham Duy Phong, Deputy Director of Ninh Binh Tourism Department, welcomed and presented flowers to the Indian delegation, who had arrived in the historical land of the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, home to the Trang An Scenic Landscape Complex, a UNESCO-recognized World Heritage Site since 2014.
Despite the hot weather in Ninh Binh, the Indian guests cheerfully embarked on their tour. From the wharf, the boatmen rowed the guests down the Sao Khe River to admire the majestic mountains, passing through caves, and visiting the sacred temples and shrines of the historical land of the ancient capital of Hoa Lu, which dates back over 1,000 years.
According to the Ninh Binh Tourism Department, on the first day of welcoming the delegation, about 800 guests visited the Trang An Heritage Site. The guests were provided with a separate path, boats following a special tour route, and attentive tour guides.
At about 2 p.m. on the same day, more Indian guests continued to arrive to visit the Trang An Heritage Site. Those who finished the tour early disembarked and returned to have lunch at Trang An 5 Restaurant in Ninh Nhat, Ninh Binh City.
On the morning of August 28, Trang An 5 Restaurant hung banners to welcome the Indian billionaire and his delegation. To serve the group, the restaurant mobilized about 30 staff, including chefs, receptionists, and waiters. According to Mr. Dinh Xuan Phuong, owner of Trang An Restaurant, the restaurant arranged 3 floors (each floor measuring 600 square meters) to serve the guests.
The 4,500 Indian guests will be divided into smaller groups and will arrive in Vietnam from August 27 to September 7. They are employees of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited, from various countries, but mostly from India, and are classified as high-spending tourists.
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Limited is also a corporation owned by one of the top 5 billionaires in India. Accompanying the delegation, this billionaire will also be present.
